Robles, who started in RF with Michael Taylor in CF, was joined by Carter Kieboom (SS) and Jake Noll (1B) in the starting lineup. Kieboom went hitless but scored a run in four trips to the plate while Noll broke an 0-for-8 skid with a two-run double in the 1st and a one-run double in the 7th.
The offensive outburst made a winner out of Erick Fedde, who went three innings and gave up a run on two hits and a walk against Minnesota’s split-squad lineup.
Kyle McGowin and Tanner Rainey and were among the parade of relievers to follow Fedde. McGowin issued two walks but worked around them for a goose egg in the 6th while Rainey gave up a homer and a single in the 7th to lower his spring ERA to 17.18.
Former watchlisters Alec Keller (2-3, 2R), Austin Davidson, (0-0, 0E), and Nick Banks (0-1) saw game action in RF, PR-2B, and LF respectively while current watchlisters KJ Harrison (0-2, K) was the second DH and Aldrem Corredor (0-1) followed Noll at 1B.
The Nats remain on the road with a trip to Port St. Lucie to face the Mets this afternoon. Jeremy Hellickson is expected to make his fourth start. The game can be seen on MLB.tv (away feed).
