Charlotte 2 Syracuse 0 – (Susp., 4th)
• Dragmire 4IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, BB, 3K, 2HR
• Marmolejos 0-1, 2B
• Robles 2-2, 2B, SB

The Chiefs fell behind 2-0 after back-to-back HRs in the 4th. The rains came after the bottom of the 4th was over and, after a 54-minute delay, the umps decided it was time go have a late supper called it off. They’ll finish this one tonight and play a seven-inning game afterwards. Roster moves: RHP Koda Glover recalled to Washington; RHP Jefry Rodriguez optioned from Washington; OF Moises Sierra activated from 7-Day DL; OF Alejandro De Aza released.

Hartford 5 Harrisburg 2
• Crowe (L, 0-1) 6IP, 5H, 4R, 1ER, 4BB, 4K, 2HR, WP, E(1)
• Bourque 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Read 2-3, R, BB
• Johnson 2-4, R, HR, RBI

Wil Crowe discovered it’s a little harder to win with only two runs to work with as Hartford beat him and Harrisburg, 5-2. Crowe went six innings in consecutive starts for the second time this season but gave up four runs on two homers and five hits total while walking four. He struck out four as he lost for the first time in 2018. Raudy Read singled twice and walked once while Daniel Johnson singled and homered to lead the Sens offense.

Potomac 7 Frederick 2
• Crownover 4+ IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, BB, 3K, HR
• Bogucki (W, 3-1) 2IP, 1H, 0R, BB, K, 3-1 IR-S
• Garcia 2-3, 3R, BB, HR, RBI
• Agustin 2-4, R, 2B
• Sundberg 1-3, R, BB, RBI, CS(8)

The P-Nats clarified their paternity in regards to the Keys, 7-2 for their sixth straight win. Matthew Crownover got the start but couldn’t get out of the 5th as he put on the first four batters before giving way to the bullpen. He would give up both Frederick runs on five hits and a walk. A.J. Bogucki got the win and led the trio of relievers who combined for five scoreless innings. Luis Garcia singled, walked, and homered and scored three runs to power the Potomac offense.

Augusta 7 Hagerstown 6 (7 inn.)
• Alastre 5+ IP, 8H, 6R, 6ER, BB, 5K, HR
• Pantoja (L, 0-1) 1⅓ IP, 2H, 1R, 0ER, 0BB, 0K, 1-0 IR-S
• Dunlap 2-2, R, 2B, BB
• Freeman 2-3, R, BB, RBI
• Canning 2-4, R, 2B, OF assist at HP

Hagerstown blew a 4-0 lead and was walked off in the bottom of the 7th for a 7-6 loss in what would be the only game played thanks to… wait for it… the rain. Tomas Alastre was stung for six runs on eight hits and a walk over five-plus innings while striking out five. The loss went to Jorge Pantoja after a single, sacrifice, and (his) two-base error put a runner on third with one out as the Suns were able to get the runner trying to advance all the way from first. The next batter singled to plate the game-winning run. Alex Dunlap singled, doubled, walked, and scored run as did Cole Freeman, who also drove in a run, to lead the Suns offense.

Auburn vs. Batavia – PPD
The rain also postponed the game between Auburn. Because this is the second of two series in which the series was split between Auburn and Batavia to ensure that latter would be home on a Thursday (Gee, why might that be?), no make up date was announced. Best guess: next Saturday.

GCL Nationals – OFF DAY
The G-Nats return to action with a road game today against the G-Mets, home games tomorrow and Saturday vs. the G-Cardinals and G-Astros, then a Sunday morning tilt on the road again against the G-Marlins.
