Ladies, gentlemen, and lurkers – I’ve fiddled with a couple of the discussion settings in the theme, most notably the setting of a cookie to save your name/email. I was unable to replicate the issue yesterday. I tried multiple browsers (on which only one I am logged in) but comments were coming in normally. I’d really prefer not to change settings that would make it easier for a hit-and-run artist, require logins, or set up Disqus. The only other X factors that I can think of are browser-related (i.e. clearing your cache) and ad blocking.
Please keep us posted on your experiences – I’m also trying to avoid going to GoDaddy because invariably my problems always seem to only be solvable with an addition to my services.

The Senators dropped their fifth straight as the Curve swept the two-game series with a 6-3 win. A grand slam was the killshot in Altoona’s five-run 4th as they sent Sterling Sharp to the showers with all six runs charged to him on five hits and two walks over three and 2/3rds innings He struck out one while losing for the third time at AA. Hunter Jones got three hits, the rest of the lineup got four though one was a two-run HR by Alec Keller. With the loss, Harrisburg trails Altoona by 8 games, Akron by 8½ with 11 to play for the wildcard and division respectively. Roster move: RHP Derek Self reassigned from Syracuse.

Nick Raquet and Ben Braymer combined on a four-hit, 1-0 shutout of Lynchburg to prevent a series sweep. Raquet went the first five and gave up three hits and a walk while fanning four to earn his third High-A win. Ben Braymer finished the game with one hit and one walk allowed and struck out eight to notch his second save. Doubles by Ian Sagdal and Rhett Wiseman scored the lone run as Potomac collected seven hits total, with Sagdal and “the new guy” (Andruw Monasterio) both going 2-for-4 to lead the hit column.

The Suns got an RBI single from Jake Scudder and a sac fly from Anderson Franco to take a 3-1 lead in the 8th and held on for 3-2 win over the Legends in the series opener. Jackson Stoeckinger got the start and held Lexington to one run on five hits over six innings. He walked one and fanned five but got the no-decision. Frankie “Goes to Hagerstown” Bartow finished the game and wobbled through the 9th—two hits, error (his)—to pick up his third win. Cole Freeman singled, doubled, and scored run to lead the five-hit, three-walk offense.

In the Nats organization, self-inflicted losses are de rigeur. Tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th, Nector Ramirez gave up a single and a double with one out then issued an intentional walk to set up a double play. He struck out the next batter for the second out, then threw a two-out, walk-off wild pitch for a 3-2 loss to State College. Reid Schaller got the start and the no-decision with five innings of two-run ball on five hits and a walk while striking out two. Carson Shaddy was the sole Doubleday batter to collect multiple hits as he singled, doubled, and drove in a run. Despite five straight losses, Auburn still leads the NYPL wildcard race by a ½ game and trails Mahoning Valley in the Pickney Division by 1½ games.
