In spite of a 10-min rain delay, the Senators rallied for two in the bottom of the 9th to take the game, 4-3 and the series, 2-1. Tyler Mapes came back from the DL and gave up all three Curve runs on seven hits, including a HR, and a walk while striking out five. Ronald Pena and Jordan Mills both turned in two scoreless innings of relief with the “W” going to Mills. Austin Davidson, who doubled twice earlier in the game, walked, took second on a Taylor Gushue single, and scored on a groundout to tie the game. Following two walks (one intentional) Daniel Johnson lofted a one-out flyball to center that fell for a single and the game-winning RBI. Roster move: RHP Tyler Mapes activated from the 7-Day DL.

Staked to a four-run lead before he took the mound, Potomac’s Wil Crowe and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout of Frederick, 10-0. Crowe walked one and gave up five hits over the first six innings. He struck out six while getting his 11th win. Newcomer Jhon Romero struck out three and gave up the sixth hit over two innings while Steven Fuentes pitched a 1-2-3 ninth (and didn’t throw a hissy fit) to close it out. Nick Banks scored four times and drove in four with a single, double, and two homers while Jack Sundberg singled twice, walked twice, and scored twice to lead the P-Nats attack.

Ricardo Mendez’s three-run triple highlighted a four-run 7th as Auburn took the opener against State College, 7-1. Aaron Fletcher went the first three and gave up no runs on two hits and no walks while fanning four. Gilberto Chu was the pitcher of record when the Doubledays took the lead while David Smith notched his fifth save with two scoreless innings. Pablo O’Connor led the Auburn hit column with a 3-for-4 night.

In the nightcap, the Doubledays dropped a three-spot in the 1st and repeated the feat in the 5th while two pitchers combined on a three-hit, 5-0 shutout of the Spikes. Angel Guillen won his fifth game with the spot start as he went the first six and allowed all three hits and one walk while fanning three. Colin Morse walked one and struck out one in the 7th to finish the game. Jamori Blash singled three times and drove in two while Cody Wilson and Pablo O’Connor both went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Auburn offense.

Anthony Peroni’s two-run HR in the 9th tied it up a 3-3 but a one-out walk, a stolen base, a passed ball, and missed play at the play ended it for a 4-3 G-Marlins win over the G-Nats. Niomar Gomez got the start and allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out three. Chris Vann took the loss as he retired just the leadoff batter in the 9th after getting the last two outs in the 8th. Peroni also singled but the G-Nats managed just five hits total, with Onix Vega, Blake Chisholm, and Colton Pogue each getting a single.
