Three Senators pitchers combined on a six-hit, 11-0 shutout of the BaySox. Jaron “Yep, my Dad’s Kevin” Long went the first seven, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out two and hitting a batter to earn his third win. Ismael Guillon and Austen Williams each added another goose egg and allowed a hit. Zach Collier was the beer man in the 14-hit demolition while Jake Noll led the way with a 3-for-6 night, scoring twice and driving in two. SS Carter Kieboom was named to the U.S. roster for the Futures game on July 15. Harrisburg manager Matt LeCroy will join former teammate Torii Hunter as the bench coach but will be unable to pull anyone from the game for not running “properly” on a popup or ground ball.

The wheels came off the bus in the 5th as Salem scored five times to erase an early 3-0 Potomac lead and held on for 5-4 win and take 2-1 lead in the five-game series. Nick Raquet was charged with the first three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out just two over five and a 1/3rd innings. A.J. Bogucki let in one inherited runner and two of his own to get the blown-save-loss. Luis Garcia doubled and tripled and drove in two as did Jack Sundberg on a single and a double. Ian Sagdal led the P-Nats hit column with a 3-for-5 night. Garcia was named to the World roster for the [no free advertising] Futures Game on All-Star Sunday

The Shorebirds missed an extra point in the 4th but got a safety in the 7th and a rouge in the 8th as they tripled up the Suns, 9-3. Kyle Johnson took the brunt of the beating with six runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks while striking out three over three and 2/3rds innings for his third loss. Three of those runs were let in by Sam Held, who was only slightly less ineffective with two runs allowed on five hits and a walk over three and a 1/3rd innings. Nick Choruby singled, doubled, scored a run, and stole a base to lead Hagerstown’s six-hit one-walk offense.

Auburn stopped its two-game slide with a 4-2 win over State College. Francys Peguero won for the second time on five innings of one-run ball on a homer and three hits total while walking one, striking out two, and hitting a batter. Ryan Tapani tossed two scoreless while fanning three to earn his second hold and Connor Zwetsch got credit for his fifth save despite giving up a run on three hits. Israel Pineda singled, homered, and drove in two while Cole Daily singled twice to lead the Doubleday offense.

The G-Cards jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one, 7-2 after two and cruised to a 14-7 win over the G-Nats. Colin Morse, younger brother of Phil, got the start and somehow got two outs in between three walks, two hit batsman, a double, and a wild pitch for his first loss. Trey Vickers, Leandro Emiliani, and Landerson Pena each went 2-for-4 with a run scored to lead the G-Nats attack.
