Jaron Long and Ronald Pena combined on a one-hit shutout of Richmond for a 2-0 win. Long went the first seven innings and gave up the hit while walking two and fanning five for his second AA win of ’18. Pena mowed down the next six batters, four by way of the K, for his first AA save. Osvaldo Abreu’s RBI single in the 3rd broke accounted for the the first Sens run while Zach Collier homered—amazingly, NOT off Taylor Hill, who’s up to his old tricks with seven allowed in 35IP—for the second run in the 7th. Harrisburg collected just six hits, with Carter Kieboom getting two.

Nick Raquet’s second A+ start was an L as the hitters couldn’t cover for him this time in a 6-1 P-Nats loss to the Pelicans. Raquet was knocked from the box after his third walk with one out in the 3rd and six runs in on eight hits. Hayden Howard stranded two while getting out of the 3rd then added three more goose eggs to the scoreboard. Myrtle Beach walked four while giving up six hits but Potomac stranded all ten baserunners, going 0-for-10 with RISP.

Hagerstown returned the favor from Saturday night as they opened a can of whoop-ass on West Virginia for an 11-4 win to even the series. Kyle Johnson won for the second time as he allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out a career-high eight batters. Carlos Acevedo careered through three innings, giving up two run on three hits and was somehow credited with a save. Luis Garcia led the 14-hit parade with three singles and a double while Jake Scudder singled once and doubled twice to drive in three to lead the Suns offense.

Jacob Rhinesmith’s three-run triple erased an early 1-0 deficit as the Doubledays felled the Crosscutters, 4-1 for their 7th straight win. Francys Peguero racked up his first NYPL win with five innings of one-run ball on two hits and a walk while striking out two. Aaron Barrett, Kevin Tapani, and Connor Zwetsch combined for four scoreless to earn holds for Barrett and Tapani and Zwetsch’s fourth save. Gage Canning singled once, scored twice, and doubled twice to lead the Auburn attack.

The G-Cards shut out the G-Nats 2-0 on two hits. Reid Schaller went the first two innings and was perfect with three whiffs. The loss went to Fausto Seguro who gave up the first G-Cards run on three hits over three and a 1/3rd innings. He walked none and struck out four, as did Chandler Day who followed him with two perfect innings. Leandro Emiliani broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff single in the 3rd. Blake Chisholm eliminated the one-hitter with one-out single in the 5th. It was a G-rated offense for the G-Nats as no baserunner reached second base.
