John Simms got the spot start and was charged with all four Rochester runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks over four and a 1/3rd innings for his third loss. David Goforth stranded two while finishing the 5th and pitched a scoreless 6th while Austin Adams was perfect in the 7th and 8th to give the offense a chance to come back. They didn’t. Tuffy Gosewich doubled twice and walked once to lead Syracuse’s 10-hit parade. Roster moves: RHPs Austin Voth, Wander Suero optioned from Washington.

Harrisburg never led in this one, but tied it twice to send it to extras where they were outscored 2-1 in the 10th to lose, 5-4. Wirkin “For the Weekend” Estevez got knocked from the box in the 5th and gave up two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five. The loss went to Jeff Ames, who let in the free runner and one of his own on a hit and two walks while fanning two. Raudy Read’s second single with two outs in the bottom of the 10th plated the fourth run as he led the Sens hit column of eight. Austin Davidson also homered and walked. Ronald Pena had a hand in the loss as he let in two inherited runners and one of his own over 2/3rds of an inning. Jordan Mills also pitched 2/3rds of an inning. Sources are telling us Tyler Mapes will be called up today to Harrisburg; Mapes, Sterling Sharp, and Wil Crowe did not make the trip to Zebulon
