Rochester 2 Syracuse 0
• Valdez (L, 2-3) 6IP, 5H, 2R, 1ER, 2BB, 3K
• Marmolejos 1-4, 2B
• Stevenson 1-4, SB
Roster move: RHP Cesar Vargas placed on the 7-Day DL.

Harrisburg 9 Bowie 4 – GAME ONE
• Darnell 4IP, 7H, 2R, 2ER, 0BB, 3K, HR
• Guillon (W, 1-0) 1⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, BB, K, WP
• Jones 2-3, R, 2B, BB, RBI
• Ward 1-2, R, 2BB, HR, 2RBI
• Walker 1-2, R, 2BB

The Senators put up crooked numbers in three of six “ups,” including a four-spot in the 6th to outslug the BaySox, 9-4. Logan Darnell went the first four innings and gave up a two-run HR and seven hits total without issuing a walk and setting down three on strikes. Ismael Guillon picked up the win with a scoreless inning and 2/3rds (one hit, walk, whiff) while Roman Mendez got the benefit of the last big inning for a save despite coughing up a two-run HR in the 7th. Hunter Jones, Adam Walker, and Drew Ward each reached base three times and scored a run to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Harrisburg 8 Bowie 6 – GAME TWO
• Williams 3IP, 3H, 2R, 1ER, BB, 4K
• Fleck (W, 3-3) 2⅔ IP, 4H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, 2K, HR
• Collier 2-3, 2R, 3B, HR, 3RBI
• Abreu 2-3, 2B, 3B, 2RBI
• Read 1-3, R, HR, 2RBI

In the “aftercap,” Harrisburg broke a 5-5 tie with a run in the 5th and got two insurance runs in the 6th to hold on for an 8-6 win and the doubleheader sweep. Austen Williams got the spot start and gave up two first-inning runs before leaving after three with three hits an one walk allowed and four K’s. Kaleb Fleck was credited with the win but pitched poorly while Bryan Harper stranded a runner in the 6th and let in a run in the 7th as he was credited with his fourth save. Raudy Read, Zach Collie, and Osvaldo Abreu combined to go 5-for-9 with a double (Abreu), two triples (Abreu, Collier), two homers (Collier, Read), and seven RBI to lead the Sens attack.

Potomac – ALL-STAR BREAK
The P-Nats begin the second half against the Blue Rocks with what should be a few new faces, as this is typically when the Nats shuffle the deck and bump up a couple of Suns and sometimes drop down a Senator or two.

Hagerstown – ALL-STAR BREAK
Hagerstown also gets the benefit of hitting the reset button but will probably get the backfills from Auburn versus any demotions from Potomac. Nevertheless, it’s still a chance to get out of seventh place and perhaps even get above .500 for the second half.

Williamsport 4 Auburn 0
• M. Pena 5IP, 6H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Bartow 2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Tapani (L, 0-1) 1IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 0BB, 1K
• Rhinesmith 2-4
• Pineda 1-3

The Crosscutters completed their sweep as they shut out the Doubledays, 2-0. Malvin Pena went the first five and gave up six hits, no walks, and no runs while striking out three. Frankie Bartow tossed two perfect innings in his pro debut, fanning two. Ryan Tapani didn’t do quite so well as Williamsport knocked him for both of its runs on three hits in his single inning pitched to hand him his first loss. Auburn was held to just six hits with Jacob Rhinesmith the sole batter to reach base twice with a pair of singles in four trips to the plate.

GCL Marlins 9 GCL Nationals 3
• Strom 2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• F. Perez (L, 0-1) 1.1 IP, 1H, 2R, 0ER, 2BB, 3K
• Vickers 1-3, 2B, 2RBI
• O’Connor 1-3, 2B, BB

The G-Nats’ early 1-0 lead was erased by several crooked numbers as the G-Marlins handed them a 9-3 loss. Leif Strom, last year’s 21st Rd. pick, got the start and tossed two perfect innings with three whiffs. The loss went to Fray Perez, who came undone in the 5th with two unearned runs on a hit and two walks while fanning three. Tre Vickers drove in both runs while going 1-for-3 with a double, as did Pablo O’Connor, who also drew a walk. Roster moves: C Jose Cabello released; RHPs Tanner Driskill (9th Rd.), Alec Maley (32nd Rd.), and Bobby Milacki (38th Rd.; Do you have to ask? Fine. Yes, he’s the son of Bob) assigned from Washington.
