Round one between the first-place RubberDucks and second-place Senators went to the ‘Ducks as they answered the Sens’ two runs in the 8th with two of their own for a 5-4 win. Kyle McGowin turned in a quality start with three runs on three hits and three walks over six innings while striking out four. After striking out the side in the 7th, Ismael Guillon gave a walk, a double, and a sac fly to tie it a 4-4. He struck out the next batter and was lifted for Derek Self, who gave up a single and let in the winning run to hand Guillon the loss. Carter Kieboom singled once, doubled once, and struck out twice to maintain sky-high expectations lead the Harrisburg offense.

Rain threatened but never came last night in Woodbridge, except for the downpour of seven runs in the 8th by Potomac in a 10-0 shutout of Wilmington. Ben Braymer made his second start and tossed six scoreless innings with three hits and two walks allowed while setting down six on strikes to earn his third win. Steven Fuentes followed with two scoreless innings in his return to High-A and earned the hold. Nick Banks’s three-run triple highlighted the Potomac 8th as the P-Nats made the Blue rocks pitchers pay for walking them six times in the inning. Banks drove in five total while Tres Barrera led the 11-hit parade with three singles.

Greensboro vs. Hagerstown – PPD
The rain did come to Western Maryland to postpone the Suns and ‘Hoppers and force a doubleheader tonight. It’s the 11th game that’s been postponed or canceled this season for Hagerstown.

Auburn’s skid is now five after 10-7 loss to Mahoning Valley. Nelson Galindez bore the brunt of the beating, with six runs allowed on eight hits and four walks over four-plus innings, and lost for the first time this season. All ten Doubleday hits came from the top half of the lineup, with Jamori Blash, Gage Canning, and Jacob Rhinesmith each collecting three base knocks. Canning was a double shy of the cycle while Blash drew a walk and drove in two.

The G-Nats finally got in the G-Win column by outslugging the G-Astros, 11-9. The visitors teed off on Carson Teel for two run on four hits and a walk over two innings in his pro debut. The win went to Fausto Segura with three scoreless innings pitched, one hit allowed, no walks, and two whiffs. 18-y.o. Colombian Leandro Emiliani drove in two with three singles and double while the law firm of Blake Preston Chisholm filed motions for four singles and three RBI; both scored twice as the G-Nats pounded out 19 hits total. Roster moves: LHPs Aaron Fletcher (14th Rd. pick, Univ. of Houston), Carson Teel (16th, Oklahoma St.), and SS Kyle Marinconz (24th, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) assigned from Washington.
