• Ward 1-3, BB

The good news is that Carter Kieboom homered in his AA debut. The bad news is that there was no one on base as Harrisburg was edged by Bowie, 2-1. Jaron Long turned in a quality start but still lost as he gave up both BaySox run on five hits and three walks while striking out six. Dakota Bacus and Jeff Ames combined for three scoreless innings of relief. Kieboom’s big fly was one of just six hits on the night by the Senators, who walked three times and fanned 11 times.

Jakson Reetz threw out just one of six baserunners and committed three throwing errors, the last of which led to the game-winning run as the P-Nats were edged by the Blue Rocks, 2-1. Joan Baez had his usual bad inning early and then wobbled through five more to finish with one run allowed on five hits and four walks while striking out six. Jorge Pantoja suffered the loss despite allowing only one hit, no walks, and fanning four over two innings. Oldcomer Bryan Mejia singled and doubled while newcomer Nick Banks singled twice to lead Potomac’s nine-hit parade.

Hagerstown dug out from a 3-0 hole with a run in the 5th and two in the 6th but had no answer for Greensboro’s tally in the 8th, and lost 4-3. Jackson Tetrault went the first five innings and was dinged from three runs on seven hits, including a HR. He walked two and struck out six. The loss went to A.J. Bogucki, who let in a run over three innings on four hits and a walk while fanning five. Luis Garcia and Jeyner Baez both went 2-for-3 with a walk as the Suns pounded out 10 hits on the night.

The Doubledays’ slide extended to four with a 4-1 loss to the Scrappers. Yonathan Ramirez got the start and threw five innings of three-run ball on five hits and no walks with two (2) strikeouts and was the losing pitcher for the second time. Mahoning gave away the shutout in the 7th with a walk and two hit batsmen before Israel Pineda grounded into double play. Juan Pascal broke up the no-hitter with a single in the 9th while Jonathan Pryor singled in the 9th for the second Auburn hit.

Alfonso Hernandez righted the ship with four and a 1/3rd scoreless innings of relief, with two hits, no walks, and four whiffs. Blake Chisholm and Tyler Cropley both reached base twice while Pablo O’Connor drove in two to lead the G-Nats attack.
