The Chiefs took another spin around the drain as they dropped their fourth straight, 8-5 to the Bisons. Austin Voth was stampeded for five runs on six hits and three walks over five innings but got the no-decision. It was the third consecutive start in which he gave up five or more runs. Austin Adams didn’t walk a batter but Shawn Kelley’d the game-winning run on a two-run homer in the 7th for his second loss. Jose “Orange” Marmolejos singled three times while Jason Martinson and Yadiel Hernandez both homered to lead the Syracuse offense. Roster move: LHP Tim Collins recalled to Washington.

Rhett Wiseman (3-for-4, 3RBI) homered twice in the last two “ups” for the P-Nats to take the series opener from the Blue Rocks, 3-1. Sterling Sharp struck out six while pitching a season-high six and 2/3rds innings. He allowed one run and was charged with eight hits, five of which weren’t near a defender. The win went to Hayden Howard, who stranded two while getting out of a jam in the 7th then threw a scoreless 8th. The save went to Jordan Mills, who struck out the side in the 9th. Jakson Reetz doubled twice while Carter Kieboom and Bryan Mejia both singled twice as Potomac, which leads the C.L. with a .288 team BA, racked up 11 hits total.

Hagerstown was shut out for the second time in three games to drop the opener to Lakewood, 2-0. Jackson Tetrault turned in his best out of the season: six innings of one-run ball on five hits and a walk and was rewarded with his fifth loss in eight starts. Jared Brasher finished the game with one run let in over the final two innings. Cole Freeman hit safely for the 11th straight game with a double in the 9th while Aldrem Corredor went 2-for-3, but the rest of the lineup went hitless and did not draw a walk.
