The Chiefs took an early 3-0 lead but the RailRiders chipped away with single runs in 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th inning before taking the lead with two in the 7th then piling on one more in the 8th for a 7-4 win that stopped a modest four-game win streak. Tommy Milone was strafed for 10 hits and four runs over six innings but got the no-decision. Cody Satterwhite retired just two of seven batters faced to give up the tying and go-ahead runs and take the loss. Irving Falu singled three times, scored once, walked once, and drove in two to lead the Syracuse offense.

• Fleck 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Murphy 2-4, R, 2B, HR, 6RBI

Some guy named Daniel Murphy drove in six with a three-run double in the 3rd and three-run homer in the 5th as Harrisburg downed Altoona, 7-2. Kyle McGowin fanned a career-best 10 while allowing both Curve runs on six hits and a walk over six innings for his second win. Kaleb Fleck whiffed three over two and Bryan Harper got the 14th K on the night while mopping up in the 9th. Brian Goodwin scored twice and reached base twice with a single and a walk as the Sens made the most out of five hits and four walks and Altoona’s lone error.

Potomac 4 Winston-Salem 0

Two P-Nats pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout of the Dash, 4-0 to take a 2-1 series lead. Wil Crowe won for the sixth time in nine appearances as he went the first six and gave up all five Winston-Salem hits and walked one while setting down five on strikes. Ronald Pena was prefect the rest of the way as he fanned five over the final three innings to earn the save. Potomac managed just four hits and four walks but took advantage of two errors in the 7th to break open a 1-0 game and score three times. Branden Boggetto and David Masters both doubled once while Jack Sundberg and Jake Noll each singled to comprise the P-Nat hit column.

Hagerstown 5 Greensboro 2 – SUSP.
• Bogucki 3+ IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 5K
• Garcia 2-2, R, RBI
• Scudder 1-2, R, HR, 4RBI

Jake Scudder’s grand slam capped off a five-run 1st to help Hagerstown build a 5-2 lead before the rains came and suspended play. Weather permitting, they’ll finish this game then play a seven-inning game afterwards this afternoon.
