The Chiefs set season highs in hits (16) and runs scored as they closed out the series against the Bisons with an 11-8 win. Edwin Jackson turned in a quality start with three runs let in on six hits, including a homer, while fanning seven. Newcomer Josh Edgin tossed a scoreless inning before David Goforth was dinged for two in the 8th and Jimmy Cordero coughed up three in the 9th. Yadiel Hernandez reached base four times with a walk, single, and two doubles while the two Jakes (Wilson and Lowery) both had two singles and a double to lead the Syracuse offense. Roster move: RHP Erick Fedde optioned from Washington.

The Senators completed the sweep of the Seawolves with a 4-2 win in the matinee. Logan Darnell pitched into the 6th, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out three to earn his third win. Jeff Ames, Roman Mendez, and Bryan Harper combined for one run (HR, off Harper) over the final three and 2/3rds innings to seal the deal. Drew Ward finally got to .200 with a single and a two-run HR that broke open a 2-1 game while Kelvin Gutierrez reached base three times with two walks and a single to pace the Harrisburg offense.

The wheels came off the bus for Wilmington in the 5th as Potomac batted around and scored eight times to erase a 4-0 deficit and held on for 10-7 win. Matthew Crownover got the Jack Morris win with six runs allowed (four earned) on eight hits over five and a 1/3rd innings. He walked one and fanned four while picking up his second win. Ben Braymer let in two inherited and one of his own but held the lead before handing it over to Jordan Mills for three-up, three-down 9th and his fifth save. Tres Barrera, Edwin Lora, and Alec Keller each had two hits in the P-Nats hit parade as they took advantage of seven walks and went 7-for-11 with RISP.

Lakewood 4 Hagerstown 3 – GAME ONE

Jake Scudder’s Earl Weaver special in the top of the 5th briefly gave the Suns a 3-2 lead but Jackson Stoeckinger gave the lead right back with a leadoff HR in the bottom half of the inning. Two innings later the BlueClaws pinched A.J. Bogucki for the loss on a pair of singles sandwiched around a sacrifice bunt for the 4-3 walkoff win. Stoeckinger went five innings and gave up three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three in the no-decision. Hagerstown managed just five hits and no batter reached base twice.

Lakewood 4 Hagerstown 3 – GAME TWO

Lakewood scored in each of the first four innings and held on for a 5-3 win to sweep the doubleheader from Hagerstown. Nick Raquet threw a complete game and/or saved the bullpen with all five runs allowed on nine hits and a walk while striking out a season- and career-best eight. It was his fifth loss. Luis Garcia singled twice, scored twice, and hit a two-run homer while the rest of the lineup went 3-for-21 with four walks (two by Yasel Antuna).
