Back-to-back doubles in the 8th by veterans Chris Dominguez and Alejandro De Aza plated the gamewinner as the Chiefs edged the Red Wings, 3-2 and won back-to-back games for the first time this season. Cesar Vargas started and let in an unearned run on five hits over five innings with no walks and four whiffs. The win went to John Simms who gave up the second Rochester run on four hits over two and 2/3rds innings. Hunter Jones and Jose “Orange” Marmolejos led the hit column with a 2-for-4 mark. A three-run, inside-the-park HR proved to be the difference in a 4-3 Altoona win over Harrisburg. Wirkin “For the Weekend” Estevez got the start and allowed just one run on four hits and a walk over five innings. Kaleb Fleck took the loss with his second blown save as he was charged with the final three Curve runs on the aforementioned HR. The Senators drew eight walks and collected four singles, but none with RISP as the two of their three runs came in via errors. Yadiel Hernandez, Rafael Bautista were the only two Harrisburg hitters to both collect a hit and draw a walk.

The P-Nats struck again with three in the 1st and never looked back as they doubled up the Wood Ducks, 8-4. Matthew Crownover spun six innings of one-run ball on five hits and a walk while striking out five to earn the win, Blake Perkins collected three hits, scored a run, drove in two, and stole a base while Austin Davidson extended his hit streak to six games as the 25-y.o. went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Juan Soto drove in six, including two on his third HR in six games, as Hagerstown tripled up Columbia, 9-3. The 19-y.o. reached base five times total as he also singled, doubled, and walked twice. Brigham Hill struck out six but fell two outs shy of qualifying for the win. Ben Braymer let in one of two inherited runners while closing out the 5th and then threw three scoreless innings to get the “W.” Jeremy McKinney struck out two in the 9th for a baker’s dozen of whiffs by the Suns’ pitchers. Nick Banks singled twice and walked twice while Yasel Antuna doubled, walked, singled, and scored three runs to highlight the non-Soto Hagerstown offense.
