Believe it or not, this game was tied at 4-4 after regulation, but Bowie won the battle of which bullpen could do worse. Harrisburg scored four times in the top of the 13th, highlighted by Zach Collier’s Earl Weaver Special. Roman Mendez did his best to give them all back but only allowed three runs to make a winner out of Kaleb Fleck. Brady Dragmire got the start and scattered seven hits over five and 2/3rds innings, allowing two runs (one earned) while walking on and fanning three for the no-decision. Collier, who drove in five total, and Dan Gamache led the Sens’ hit column with three apiece.

The P-Nats pitchers piled up 18K’s in a 5-3 season-opening loss to the Blue Rocks. Matthew Crownover struck out 11 but also let in three runs on four hits including a home run in a no-decision. The loss went to James Bourque, who caughed up two runs in two innings on… wait for it… two hits. Carter Kieboom singled, doubled, and a scored a run while Jake Noll and Rhett Wiseman both homered to lead the six-hit barrage by the Potomac offense.

It was a Soto shot in the first that scored both Hagerstown runs in a 5-2 loss to Rome. Suns starter Brigham Hill took the loss as he was pummeled for four runs on six hits and three walks over four innings. Hagerstown was held to five hits total with Armond Upshaw (two singles) and Anderson Franco (single, walk) the only two hitters to reach base twice.
