Potomac vs. Frederick – PPD
Rain claimed the finale between Potomac and Frederick. They’ll make it up with another doubleheader on August 25, turning the final P-Nats homestand into a five-game series.
Hagerstown vs. Greensboro – CNCLD
Likewise (again) in Western Maryland, except that there will be no makeup games. It remains to be seen whether that will help or hinder the first-place Suns in the second half, as it did for their opponent tonight, the Intimidators, who won the first half by .003 W% by playing two fewer games than the Blue Claws. Roster moves: RHP Sam Held placed on the 7-Day DL.
Auburn 4 Batavia 3
• Braymer (W, 1-0) 5IP, 5H, R, ER, 0BB, 4K
• McKinney (SV, 1) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Scudder 2-3, 2R, 2B, BB
• Esthay 2-4, RBI
Auburn broke out for three runs in the 4th and got the pitching to make it stand up as they took their second straight, 4-3 from Batavia. Ben Braymer got his first pro win with five innings of one-run ball on five hits, no walks, and four whiffs. Jeremy McKinney earned the save with two scoreless innings to finish. Jack Scudder walked, singled and doubled while Kameron Esthay singled twice and drove in a run to lead the Doubledays offense.
GCL Nationals – OFF DAY
The G-Nats look to get back on track after two straight losses with a visit to the Mets (and the sheeple in Tebow shirseys) as they begin a four-game spin through the GCL East before their next off day on Tuesday.
