Syracuse vs. Pawtucket – PPD
The rain that shortened Monday night’s contest postponed it on Tuesday. They’ll shoot to make it up with a doubleheader today.
Altoona 4 Harrisburg 3
• Simms (L, 2-4) 7IP, 5H, 4R, 4ER, 0BB, 3K, 3HR
• Brinley 2IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Keller 3-4
• Joseph 2-4, R, 2B, RBI
The Curve went deep three times in a 4-3 win over the Senators. John Simms was the victim (culprit?) as he gave up all four Altoona runs on the longball and five hits total over seven innings in his fourth loss. Ryan Brinley kept things close with two scoreless to finish the game. Alec Keller led the Harrisburg hit column with three singles while Neftali Soto and Corban Joseph both went 2-for-4. Roster move: OF Yadiel Hernandez activated from the 3-Day TIL.
Frederick 9 Potomac 8
• Sanburn 6IP, 9H, 5R, 5ER, BB, 4K, 2HR, WP
• Rivera (L, 0-2) 1⅓ IP, 5H, 4R, 4ER, BB, 2K
• Sundberg 4-4, R, 2B, BB, 2RBI
• Page 2-4, 2R, BB, HR, RBI, OF assist at 3B
• Lora 2-3, 2R, BB, SAC
Potomac could get ’em on (12H, 6BB) but couldn’t get ’em in (4-20 RISP) and couldn’t keep the Keys in the yard again as they dropped the series finale, 9-8 to Frederick. Nolan Sanburn got the start and was lit up for five runs on nine hits, including two homers over six innings. The loss went to Mariano Rivera III, who couldn’t hold an 8-5 lead and gave up the final four runs. Jack Sundberg reached base five times with three singles, a double, and a walk while Matt Page walked, singled, and homered to lead the Potomac offense. Roster move: C Matt Reistetter reassigned from Hagerstown, placed on the 7-Day DL.
Hagerstown – PPD
The field at the Grasshoppers’ ballpark still hadn’t recovered from heavy rains last week, forcing a postponement of last night’s game and moving tonight’s contest down the road to Burlington. There is no word on when they’ll make it up.
