A five-run 3rd broke open a 2-1 game as the Chiefs took their sixth straight by an 8-3 count over the RedWings. A.J. Cole labored through five innings (89 pitches, 53 strikes) to earn his third win. He gave up all three Rochester runs on four hits, including two homers, and two walks while fanning five. Matt Grace and Nick Masset both pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Trea Turner was the beer man as the rest of the lineup pounded out 13 hits and drew five walks (two by Turner, who also stole his 10th base; remember kids, the expression “beer man” comes from slow-pitch softball where walks and stolen bases aren’t a thing).

Christopher Bostick’s HR in the 11th sent the Harrisburg fans that remained home happy with a 3-2 win over Hartford. Reynaldo Lopez pitched into the 7th for the first time in 2016, but was saddled with a no-decision when Wander Suero couldn’t strand three with one out in the 7th, instead allowing the tying run on infield single before rolling a double-play ball. Lopez struck out seven, walked one, and was charged with both Yard Goat runs on three hits over six and a 1/3rd innings. Dakota Bacus held things down for three innings, though he walked four. The win, however, went to Andrew Robinson for a scoreless 11th. Bostick and veteran Brendan Webb were the only two Sens to reach base twice as Harrisburg mustered just seven hits and two walks (Bostick and Webb) on the night.
Potomac vs. Lynchburg – PPD
They’ll play a minimum of 19 innings today — weather permitting, natch — as they try to complete Monday’s game and make yesterday’s rainout along with today’s regularly scheduled with a pair of seven-inning games.
