• Ka‘aihue 2-3, R, HR, RBI

Kila Ka‘aihue’s 7th-inning solo HR proved to be the difference as Syracuse edged Norfolk, 2-1. Scott McGregor outdueled Tyler Wilson with seven innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out six to get the win. Eric Fornataro high-wired through a three-hit 8th for the hold while Evan Meek stranded a leadoff triple to earn his fifth save. Syracuse mustered just six hits total with Ka‘aihue the sole batter to reach base twice.
OF Darin Mastroianni acquired for cash considerations from Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia).
New Britain 8 Harrisburg 7 (10 inn.)

• Goodwin 3-5, 2B, RBI, SB
• Difo 2-4, 2R, 2B, 3B, RBI, HBP
The joy of taking a 7-6 lead in extras was short-lived as the Senators once again were burned with a walkoff HR, this time a two-run shot in the bottom of the 10th to give the Rock Cats an 8-7 win. After setting down the first six batters he faced, Gilberto Mendez served up the gamewinner after a single and a flyout to take the loss. Starter Richard Bleier gave up the first six runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings while fanning just one. Brian Goodwin singled twice and doubled once while Brian Jeroloman drove in three while going 3-for-4 to pace the Harrisburg offense.
Wilmington vs. Potomac — PPD
Rain washed away the opener between the Blue Rocks and P-Nats, resulting in a doubleheader today at 4 p.m. Overshadowing that, however, is the news that Reynaldo Lopez and Lucas Giolito and have been freed from Viera activated from XST and will start today (Game One) and Friday respectively, weather permitting. Making room for them on the roster are the departures of Kevin Perez (XST) and David Napoli (Hagerstown).
Hagerstown — OFF DAY
The Suns swing though Georgia and South Carolina for three against the Rome Braves and four against the Greenville Drive. Meanwhile, the ripple effect from the Giolito and Lopez activations saw LHP Joe Webb and RHP Ryan Ullmann sent back to XST while LHPs David Napoli and Jake Walsh join the team from Potomac and XST respectively.
Trea Turner Update
Turner was 0-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in a 7-7 game that was suspended in the 8th.
