Syracuse scored in three straight innings to build a 4-0 lead and held off Norfolk for a 5-3 win to even the series at 1-1. Blake Treinen returned from DC to spin six strong innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk while setting down six on strikes for his third AAA win. The top four batters combined to go 7-for-15 with three runs scored and three RBI while Brandon Laird homered. Leadoff man Emmanuel Burriss fit the description with two singles, two runs scored, and a walk while swiping his 10th base.

After winning seven straight, it’s now two consecutive losses as the Rock Cats slammed the Senators, 7-2. A.J. Cole struck out eight over five innings but was also touched for three runs on six hits and two walks to take the loss. Neil Holland coughed up the killshot, surrendering a grand slam to turn a 3-2 game into the eventual score in the 7th. Bryan Harper struck out two and gave up a hit in his AA debut. Cutter Dykstra went 3-for-4 with an RBI while rehabbing Jeff Kobernus was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. The rest of the lineup went 2-for-25 as Harrisburg was held to seven hits total.

Three Auburn pitchers combined on a one-hitter as the Doubledays edged the Scrappers, 2-1. Jefry Rodriguez gave up both the hit and the run as he walked four during the first five innings. Deibi Yrizarri followed with two perfect innings, striking out one, while Mario Sanchez followed suit, but struck out two as the two relievers earned the win and save, respectively. Cody Gunter and Bryan Mejia both went 2-for-3 with a double to pace the Auburn offense, which got the winning run on an unintentional walk following an intentional base-on-balls in the 8th.

The D-Nats fell into an early 4-0 hole and couldn’t dig themselves out, falling to the D-Cards, 5-3. Starter Juan Bermudez took the loss, giving up the first three runs (two earned) on five hits over three and a 1/3rd innings. The 9-1 batters racked up four of the six hits and scored all three D-Nats runs as the offense left on just five baserunners.
