It was a late start (62-minute rain delay) and a late finish (12 innings) but the Chiefs continue to play their best on the road (19-14) as they outlasted the Knights, 5-4. Starter Ryan Tatusko pitched into the 6th, charged with three runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks, and struck out five but saw his “W” turn into an “ND” when recently optioned Xavier Cedeno let in a run while finish the inning. After scoring six runs combined in the 5th and 6th, the teams played to stalemate for five innings before Syracuse opened up a 5-3 lead in the 12th, scoring twice with just one hit. Mike Broadway got the win in relief while Mike Crotta rode out the 12th, allowing a run on three hits, for the save. Will Rhymes paced the Chiefs offense with three hits and two walks.
Harrisburg Senators — OFF DAY
The Senators six-game road trip continues with a three-game midweek series against the BaySox. Harrisburg remains tied for 1st place, percentage points behind Erie, thanks to a 10-4 mark in the month of June. Roster moves: RHP Ryan Perry reassigned from Syracuse.

Auburn took advantage of seven walks and five errors to score seven times on just three hits as the Doubledays took the opener against Batavia, 7-3. Sinking from High-A to SS-A, Kylin Turnbull found his groove and turned in his first scoreless outing of 2013 with two hits allowed, no walks, and three strikeouts over five innings to get the win. The Muckdogs had success against the first two men out of the ‘pen, scoring once against Silvio Medina in two innings and twice against Todd Simko in the 8th before L.J. Hollins closed out the 9th with a goose egg. Cody Dent (2-for-3) and Narciso Mesa (1-for-4) accounted for all three Doubledays hits and two of the three RBI collected.

The D-Nats fell behind 2-0 early but rallied to tie it with single runs in the 8th and 9th innings and scored on a wild pitch in the 12th for a 3-2 win over the D-Orioles2. The 19-y.o. Venezuelan Luis Torres gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over five innings, striking out four in his third start. Edwin Lora went 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored while Dionicio Rosario came off the bench to score the final two runs, walking in the 9th, and leading off the 12th with a double. Mario Sanchez, John Feliz, and Melvi Salazar combined for seven shutout innings and one walk and four hits and nine strikeouts.
