Corey Brown’s three-run shot in the bottom of the 8th capped a comeback from an early 2-0 deficit as Syracuse derailed Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 4-2. Starter Ross Ohlendorf hadn’t pitched in more than a week, thanks to the injuries in DC as well as the rain. He walked three and paid for back-to-back walks in the third with the lone hit he allowed, resulting in a two-run double. He went five innings and struck out five. Ryan Tatusko, the originally scheduled starter, got the win in relief with three scoreless innings, with two hits and two walks given up and five strikeouts. Chris Rahl, who had doubled in front of Brown in the 8th, and Chris Marrero, who had walked, paced the eight-hit attack with two hits apiece. Roster moves: RHP Christian Garcia assigned on MLB rehab; LHP Tyler Robertson optioned from Washington.

For the second straight night, the Harrisburg Senators have been rained out. This one, however, is to be made up immediately as part of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Prolonged rainfall postponed the opening game of the three-game series against the Keys, creating a doubleheader between the first- and second-place team in the C.L. North tonight. Ross Detwiler is expected to make a rehab start in the first game, with last night’s scheduled starter A.J. Cole coming on in relief.

After taking a 5-0 lead early, then seeing the Power surge back to within two at 5-3, the Suns scored four unanswered runs in the last two innings for a 9-3 win. Tony Renda was the beer man as the sole Hagerstown batter not to hit safely. Will Piwinica-Worms led the offense with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Pedro Encarnacion won his team-leading fifth game with two runs allowed (one earned) on five hits over five innings. He walked none and struck out four. Ronald Pena and Robert Benincasa each pitched two innings in relief, earning the hold and save, respectively.

The D-Nats rallied for four runs in the 8th and held off a late D-Mets1 charge to win another one-run game, 6-5. Maximo Valerio was touched for three runs on six hits and three walks over four and a 1/3rd innings in his second start. Yefri Pena got the win in relief, tossing two and 2/3rds innings of scoreless relief, allowing just a hit and a walk while striking out two. Dionicio Rosario struck again for two runs and two walks while going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
