Currently, the Syracuse roster is one short of the 25-man limit, which is a new development this year for AA and AAA and may help explain why there’s been no “rush” to make moves.
As reported in the News & Notes the past couple of days, C Jhonatan Solano is eligible to come off the DL but has not yet been activated. OF Xavier Paul is still on the Restricted List and (presumably) is also a candidate. Speculation in the comments that Moore could be returned once Zimmerman is reactivated next weekend is certainly a viable hypothesis.
Finally, as we’ve seen from the large contingency in Viera/Auburn — and several of the moves made on the Hagerstown roster this month — there are also plenty of options for the Nationals to rotate players on and off rosters. We can’t help but guess the next move or pound the drum for a promotion, but the past three days ought to remind us that we’ll probably be wrong more often than not and surprised just as much.
