For the tenth time this season a Nationals farmhand has been named the Player (or Pitcher) of the Week, as Corey Brown snagged the honor for the period of August 1st to the 7th.
Acquired in the offseason as part of a multiplayer trade for Josh Willingham, Brown hit .526 with four home runs, seven RBI and six runs scored last week, with slugging percentage of 1.211. He currently has a five-game hit streak.
It’s also the fourth time that a Syracuse Chief has won the weekly award, following Tom Milone, Michael Aubrey and Cole Kimball.
