Catching Up On Transactions

A busy day today…

SYRACUSE
• Garrett Mock assigned to Potomac

HARRISBURG
• Shairon Martis placed on 7-Day DL, retroactive to May 29

POTOMAC
• Evan Bronson assigned to Auburn

HAGERSTOWN
• Chris Curran assigned to Potomac

AUBURN
• Carlos Alvarez assigned from the Dominican Summer League

GCL
• Gregory Baez assigned to the Dominican Summer League

DON’T READ TOO MUCH INTO THESE
Clearly, this list is incomplete. As of this writing, both the Potomac and Hagerstown rosters are at 26 (one over), the Harrisburg roster is at 23 (one under), and Syracuse is also at 25 (one over). Note the use of the word “assigned,” which has become an unfortunate necessity given the facetious nature of the roster moves lately.

My hope guess is that pitching Mock tonight in Winston-Salem is a one-off that’s related to the weekend doubleheaders. Likewise, Evan Bronson may be in Auburn in the same way that Ryan Tatusko was in Syracuse, though I projected Mitchell Clegg to be pitching tonight on six days rest.

What’s probably more curious is the placement of Martis on the DL. Unfortunately, there’s an off day on the 6th and a doubleheader on the 7th that makes it harder to guess what the brass has in mind. Most likely? A older reliever (Rafael Martin or Hector Nelo) will be assigned from Potomac to Harrisburg to fill out the roster.

UPDATE
As predicted in the comments, Garrett Mock’s stay with Potomac is a short one as the 28-year-old was moved to the Harrisburg roster while Hassan Pena was assigned to the Syracuse roster.

UPDATE #2
Making room for Pena, Adam Carr was placed on the 7-Day DL, retroactive to May 29.
