Carr Promoted to Syracuse

Sources have indicated to us that Adam Carr is on his way to Syracuse to help bolster the Chiefs bullpen while Colin Balester remains with the parent club. Carr has a 6-1 mark with five saves a 3.04 ERA this season with Harrisburg with 48 strikeouts in 50⅓ innings. He was also named to the 2010 Eastern League All-Star game, in which he struck out the only batter he faced.

Carr was an 18th-round draft pick out of the University of Oklahoma Oklahoma State in the June 2006 First-Year Player Draft. He has a career record of 19-17 with 35 saves and a 4.44 ERA, as well as a .288BA with 3HRs in 71PAs (most at the GCL in ’06).

UPDATE: Per NFA, Brad Peacock and Josh Johnson have been sent up to Harrisburg, with Francisco “Watch Out Behind First Base” Soriano coming up from Hagerstown and Jimmy Barthmaier coming up from the GCL.

UPDATE #2: Replacing Soriano on the Hagerstown roster is Rick Hague, who will bat second as the DH in game one of today’s doubleheader, according to the Suns twitter feed
