IF Jim Negrych has been added to the International League All-Star roster, joining fellow Chiefs Corey Brown, Zach Duke and Carlos Rivero. Roster move: As predicted, RHP Neil Holland was returned to the Potomac Nationals yesterday.

A four-run 4th put the brakes on an eight-game winning streak as Erie dropped Harrisburg, 4-1. Danny Rosenbaum took the loss, giving up all four runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings. The Sens bats were held to just five hits, with Zach Walters the only multihit Senator (2-for-4) and Jimmy Van Ostrand (1-for-2) registering the sole RBI. Roster move: RHP Rafael Martin assigned to GCL Nationals.

After a five-game homestand that saw the Suns sweep the Legends, it’s an eight-game trek to Greensboro for four and a rematch against Lexington from Saturday to Tuesday before returning to the Muni next Thursday.

The Auburn Doubledays lost back-to-back games at home for the first time this season, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Hudson Valley Renegades. Blake Monar took the loss, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over five and a 1/3rd innings while setting down five on strikes. The Doubledays were held to just five hits, however, with Craig Manuel going 2-for-4 and Spencer Kieboom driving in the sole Auburn run. Today is the first of just three scheduled off days (the other two coming next month with the NYPL All-Star Game) as the Doubledays make the first of two road trips outside of Western NY/PA Pennsylvania with a pair of three-game series against the Ironbirds (MD) and the Tigers (CT) starting on Wednesday.

For the second straight game, the scoree was 1-0, but this time the G-Nats were on the losing end, falling to the first-place G-Cards. Daury Vasquez gave up the sole run on three hits and three walks while striking out two. Rafael Martin made his first appearance since being placed on the restricted list for Harrisburg in early June, tossing a scoreless inning. The G-Nats mustered just six hits (all singles), with Mike McQuillan and James Brooks hitting safely twice and Wilmer Difo and Narciso Mesa both singling once.

A trio of trespassers crossed home plate in three straight innings as the DSL Nationals were pounded, 12-2 by the DSL Yankees1. Wander Suero was the first of four D-Nats pitchers to get [w]itch-slapped, charged with the loss on three runs allowed over three and a 1/3rd innings on two hits and three walks, though he did fan five. Andres Martinez led the the hit column with a 2-for-4 game, while “Orange” Marmolejos-Diaz connected for a solo HR.
