Multiple online sources are reporting that Wilson Ramos has been recalled from AAA Syracuse, in part to replace Wil Nieves who is expected to leave the team for the birth of his daughter with wife Yormarie Nieves.

Ramos has put up a line of .317/.349/.483 since joining the Syracuse Chiefs after the trade with Minnesota for All-Star Closer Matt Capps in late July. He is expected to be optioned back upon Nieves’ return, but is also expected to be one of the September call-ups.

  1. good news, Sue. Maya is going to pitch in Potomac on Sunday, and the Nats promised he will go 5 innings. This should be fun.
